I was going back through my shots from my trip to Nantucket this summer. With the weather being so dreary and cold, it was incredibly warming and cheering to come across this one.
This is taken at Madaket Beach. My wife and I had ridden our bikes to this beach from the main town on the island. The great thing about this island is that it is completely accessible by bike and the locals are very accommodating. They will even wait for you at a light or stop sign so that you can cross the road. Such a relaxing place.
So when we got there, the sun was shining, the wind was blowing and the waves were crashing in. Setting up an umbrella and towels, you could just sit there forever. However, I did get up for a little while to snap a few shots.
When I took this one, I was trying to get the turbulence in the water from the waves (They were probably 4-6 foot waves) along with a the empty beach, except for the one person in the background of course. It has a bit of dreamy feel to it. Came out a bit better than I expected.
